LEGO blocks are convenient tools to progressively construct a physical visualization while unfolding a story.

動画 A は2014年8月20日、Brookings の記事 “Watch: A Snapshot of Social Mobility in America”（Fred Dews）に埋め込まれて公開されました。

Brookings Institution／Brookings「Watch: A Snapshot of Social Mobility in America」

In a perfectly mobile society, an opportunity utopia, being born down here in the bottom quintile would have no effect on where you ended up. … But now I want to show you what it’s really like…

Brookings Institution（動画のスクリーンショット）／Baltimore Brew「A lesson in Legos about social mobility in America」より引用

In both the video and the essay, we’ve created a series of ‘mobility matrices’ showing how income status in one generation influences income status in the next.

Reeves & Joanna Venator／Brookings「Saving Horatio Alger: The Data Behind the Words (and the Lego Bricks)」

動画 B は2015年4月9日、Wessel の記事 “How much does the tax code reduce inequality?”

And you can tell it with tables of numbers, charts and graphs—or you can tell with Legos.

左に AVERAGE INCOME BEFORE TAXES の文字

Brookings Institution／Brookings「How much does the tax code reduce inequality?」

Animation would be too sterile, Richard explaining two-dimensional charts would be visually mind-numbing, nothing felt right,

Burroughs の言葉は “We’re trying to give a face to the numbers” です。

The Week（Peter Weber、2015年4月14日）は、税の動画を “a pretty helpful way to visualize a fairly dry data set” と書きました。
